This Week: Ready, Set, Go For Early Black Friday
November 13, 2024.
The official Black Friday is still a few weeks away, but this year, stores have started dropping deals now because… why wait? We love it!
Last year was huge , with over 90 million people shopping online on Black Friday. Amazon alone pulled in billions during the shopping holiday, raking in record online sales with an 8% increase from the year before. And in 2023, overall Black Friday online sales in the U.S. hit $16.4 billion. This year, experts predict online sales will hit around $240 billion for the whole season. Needless to say, it’s going to be huge.
Retailers have wasted no time in kicking off early Black Friday deals. Target started their holiday discounts on November 1, with prices slashed up to 50% on toys, clothes, and appliances.
Walmart’s first Black Friday event went live on November 11 online, followed by in-store deals starting November 15. Amazon joined the early-bird game with a few pre-Black Friday deals in early November, with discounts as high as 62% off on goods like headphones, watches, security cameras, and more gadgets. Amazon’s main Black Friday sale kicks off on November 21.
Best Buy is pulling no punches either, and they started releasing doorbusters as early as November 8, dropping prices on 4K TVs and laptops with discounts reaching up to $1,000. If you’re in the Apple family, AirPods and iPads start at just $89.99.
For this year’s deals, don’t deal with the virtual crowds. Early Black Friday is the way to go. It’s projected to be the biggest shopping season yet, so beat the rush and enjoy the holiday without stressing over last-minute shopping. Happy early deal hunting!
This Week: Get Back in the Game With Squid Game Season 2 Trailer
November 6, 2024.
Do you want to play a game? Season 2 of Squid Games has just been confirmed – and we’re not playing around!
Netflix just dropped the official trailer, and it’s already racking up millions of views – over 15 million on YouTube so far. The game is about to begin, and fans are slipping into their red jumpsuits to face a new round of suspense.
Season 1 became a global sensation almost overnight when it launched in 2021, shattering Netflix records to become the platform’s most-watched show. In 28 days, captivated audiences streamed the brutal games and dark social commentary for a jaw-dropping 1.65 billion hours.
So, what kind of twisted new games are in store for Season 2? This time, determined Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) is back not just to win but to end the games once and for all.
Yet, he quickly realizes that “once you’re in, there’s no way out” as he faces new dangers and tries to convince others to join his mission. Familiar faces, like the elusive Front Man and Detective Hwang Jun-ho, also return, adding even more juicy tension to the already fraught landscape.
As for the stakes in Season 2… all fair in the game, right? With a fresh cast of competitors, the new season is primed to up the ante in every way. Fans can expect nail-biting suspense and even more psychological twists that made the first season so addictive.
After that, we can’t help but ask the producers, “Do you want to continue?” With a third and final season already confirmed for 2025, it sure looks like they do.
